Satellite Network Oriented TCP Slow Start Algorithm

This Satellite network has many disadvantages such as long round-trip-time (RTT), high bit error rate. The issues above pose challenge to existing Slow start algorithm. Slow start algorithm is a key component which directly affects startup performance of TCP. This paper mainly improves startup performance of TCP and proposes a slow start algorithm that adopts logarithmic function to overcome multiple congestion packet loss caused by inaccurate ssthresh (slow start threshold) estimation and improves throughput performance.
