Collaborative Filtering-based Test Case Prioritization and Reduction for Software Product-Line Testing
Satendra Kumar, Rajkumar, Monika Rani · 2019
Software Product-Line (SPL) testing is a complex task due to the generation of a large number of products. If the number of features is increased then, the number of products are also increased exponentially, which leads to the increment of test space. Testing order of the products plays a vital role so that testing resources could not be depleted until all products are tested. Therefore, the Test Case Prioritization (TCP) and Test Case Reduction (TCR) techniques are needed to alleviate the testing procedure of SPL. TCP technique performs the ordering of test cases to achieve a performance goal that provides the earlier feedback and decrease the debugging effort. Additionally, TCP increases the efficiency and effectiveness of fault detection. Thus, we can detect more and more faults. In this paper, we are using the concept of Item-based Collaborative Filtering (ICF) to reduce the number of products as well as prioritize the products in order for testing. Ontology is also used to store the product configurations.
