Centralized Cognitive Radio Base Station (CCRBS) observes power budget while assigning resources to Secondary Users (SU). Concurrently, while doing resource allocation, CCRBS ensures that all the surrounded Primary Users (PU) are induced with interferences below their endurable levels. Further, CCRBS should ensure the complete data transmission to each SU before it senses that allotted resources are no longer useful. As a consequence, resource allocation (by CCRBS) needs to be done as quickly as possible. The proposed algorithm does the resource allocation very quickly by bringing out relation with the water-filling problem, which was not done before. Besides, the proposed algorithm is faster than the pre-existing algorithms by the order of O(N2) with N representing the number of resources.
