As a fundamental operation for control message exchange, broadcast plays an important role in realization of wireless communication network protocol. In cognitive radio ad hoc network without common control channel, broadcasts have to be transmitted on more than one channel in order to increase possibility of successful transmissions. However, the delay is increasing along with the number of selected channels. In this paper, a selective broadcast protocol with non-simultaneous forwarding policy is introduced to avoid poor performance caused by limited neighbor assistance as well as broadcast collisions, balancing the transmission delay against the message reach rate. The proposed protocol is simulated in different scenarios, and the results implies that it outperforms the conventional selective broadcast scheme in terms of smaller transmission delay, higher message reach rate and less broadcasting collisions.
