Ensuring the Security and Performances in Tactile Internet using Physical Unclonable Functions

Tarik Hidar, Anas Abou El Kalam, Siham Benhadou · 2019

We consider The tactile internet as the evolution of technologies from GSM to Internet of things (IoT); it surrounds human-to-human and machine to machine interaction. It enables real time applications with raft of business, societal and industrial cases. In particular, people will not be needed to be physically near to the systems they operate, but they could control them remotely. However, like any new complex system and new technology, there are many problems that must be resolved, such as: latency, reliability, security and capacity. In this paper, we will present all these challenges and we will focus on security aspects. We propose Physical unclonable functions (PUF) as a solution to secure this new Next Generation Network (NGN) and technology.
