Algorithm design strategies in CS curricula 2013: hits and misses

This paper considers the latest ACM/IEEE-CS curricula guidelines (CS 2013) for teaching major algorithm design strategies to undergraduate computer science majors. It points out both pluses and minuses of these recommendations and suggests a two-tier list of algorithm design strategies that, in the author's view, would be more appropriate as a general guideline for undergraduate computer science programs.
