Problem-based assessment of the computer science major

Carol Browning, Scott Sigman · Journal of computing sciences in colleges · 2008

We have added a new assessment activity to the suite of tools we use to assess the computer science major at Drury University. Called problem-based assessment, this activity is an easy and effective method of assessing individual problem-solving skills, technical programming skills, and presentation skills. In this paper, we present the context for the development of this assessment activity, a description of the activity, the process we used, and our evaluation of the results.
