Woodie Mark Muirhead, Ron Appleton · Proceedings of the Water Environment Federation · 2007

Operational Keys to Nitrite LockNitrite-nitrogen seldom exceeds 1.0 milligram per liter (mg/L) in a properly controlled nitrification process. As soon as ammonia is oxidized to nitrite by ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AOB), the nitrite is oxidized to nitrate by nitrite oxidizing bacteria (NOB). Under certain environmental conditions, such as a poorly established or inhibited NOB population, the nitrite concentration will increase....Author(s)Woodie Mark MuirheadRon AppletonSourceProceedings of the Water Environment FederationSubjectSession 75: Troubleshooting Plant PerformanceDocument typeConference PaperPublisherWater Environment FederationPrint publication date Jan, 2007ISSN1938-6478SICI1938-6478(20070101)2007:12L.5940;1-DOI10.2175/193864707787969973Volume / Issue2007 / 12Content sourceWEFTECFirst / last page(s)5940 - 5955Copyright2007Word count141
