Confluence ‐‐ Ultrasonic Scanner Detects Problems
American Water Works Association · 1992
The ultrasonic device described in this brief article enables a crew member to hear otherwise inaudible high‐frequency sounds that indicate current or potential damage. The process is fast and simple. The inspector first scans an area for general leak detection and then uses a steel contact probe to pinpoint problems buried inside operating machinery.
