Q What attracted you to working with older people? A My maternal grandparents were Irish with older people? and my fondest childhood memories are of sitting in their tiny kitchen enjoying the 'craic'. They were storytellers and the tales they told brought their past to life and captured my imagination. This enabled me to understand them and have a connection with living history. The story of who we are and how we came to be is hugely important in dementia care, and for me it is a privilege to work with people in enabling them to share their experiences and memories.
