Bit Plane Slicing-Based Progressive Visual Secret Sharing for Grayscale and Color Images

This paper presents a new technique for generating a set of shared image from a single secret image under the bit plane slicing-based approach. The proposed method inherits the usability and effectiveness of the former Progressive Visual Secret Sharing (PVSS) task. The proposed scheme also overcomes the slight limitation of former scheme on the lossy recovered secret image. As documented in Experimental Section, the proposed method achieves lossless recovered secret image, at the same time, it offers better performance compared to the former scheme. In addition, this finding is also supported with the theoretical analysis.
