In today's communication world uninterrupted communication is the most required and sought after. Cognitive radio technology plays a key role in making this possible. Cognitive radio technology discovers the means for efficient use of channels and to improve the service quality by taking into contemplation both the primary and the cognitive user/ subordinate user and by sharing the existing network. We take into contemplation the outcome of limited switching delay and compare it by considering different residual time. The outcome of switching delay and residual time distributions on performance metrics are also explored. The results have been provided to approve the same.
