Android Device or a Privacy Compromise?

Android operating system is most widely used in phones belonging to the past few decades. There are thousands and millions of applications that get downloaded everyday by the users. Although these make our life easier there are many threats involving these applications. Despite the best attempts of users, developers and the technology providers, Android devices still have issues in protecting user’s data. The major issues arise from the complexity of the mobile ecosystem and have resulted in vulnerable implementations and fundamental design flaws. Anything that jeopardizes the sensitive data of a user and may lead to a breach in privacy is a threat. The intention of this paper is to understand the many ways in which user privacy protection techniques are currently being implemented, contrast and analyze these methods and suggest a potential improved solution.
