Design and Development of Agile C-Band Synthesizer for RADAR

C-Band Frequency synthesizer developed is used to test the performance of a RADAR as a BITE signal. The Field BITE Unit emulates target signals. The synthesizer unit receives frequency information from RADAR controller through Ethernet and IF over RF cable. It involves Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) based Local Oscillator synthesis besides Generation and Amplification of C Band Field BITE signal. The unit generates 16 fixed frequencies by using a highly stable OCXO with excellent phase noise characteristics. PLL with OCXO as reference is used to generate S-Band reference clock to the DDS. The FPGA programmed DDS is used for agility.
