An Improved Canny Operator in the Application of Medical Image Segmentation

For the traditional Canny operator has the defects in calculating gradient magnitude and selecting the high and low thresholds manually, an improved Canny operator is proposed, which determines the thresholds by gray histogram and improves the process of calculating gradient magnitude. The improved Canny operator is used to detect the edge of a brain CT image. The experimental results show that the improved algorithm can detect more edge details, effectively suppress false edges, and has stronger adaptability.
