In-network proactive caching has been considered as an attractive approach for content-centric vehicular networks (CCVNs). The existing proactive caching strategies cache all data to selected roadside units (RSUs) for coming vehicles in order to reduce the delay for data requesting from the vehicles to the data server. In the vehicular networks, due to the high cost of deploying RSUs and their limited storage capacity, they could support only the limited number of vehicles and the limited amount of contents and decrease the hit ratio. To solve the problem, we propose a proactive caching strategy for RSUs to distribute data according to the movement of the vehicles. With the movement pattern, as multiple RSUs partially cache chunk-level distributed data, the proposed strategy could provide the data service to multiple vehicles. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme is superior to the existing schemes in terms of caching hit ratio and delay.
