Performance analysis of TCP CERL in wireless networks with random loss

Random loss is one of the main problems that occurs between nodes in wireless networks because of mobility or fading. Several TCP protocols have been proposed to solve the problem of congestion control assuming the random loss, however, better performance should be probed. In this paper, we test our TCP CERL performance in wireless LANs and compare it with TCP YeAh, TCP Cubic, TCP WestwoodNR, and TCP Scalable by using network simulation ns2. We assume piggybacking communication between end users to suit real-time applications. Results show that TCP CERL has a higher throughput than other TCPs.
