Design and evaluation of agent implementation architectures for efficient deployment of agent technologies

Nishit Gujral · 2004

The use of multi-agent systems to model and control complex domains has increased. This research offers a method and tool for the creation and evaluation of implementation-specific multi-agent system architectures. The Implementation Architecture (IA) model specifies the constituent technologies based on adherence to infrastructure constraints - ability of technologies to integrate and interoperate with one another as well as their ability to deploy at specific sites. Understanding and modeling agent technologies is essential for the design process. The agent implementation architecture is constructed based on an iterative evaluation process determining if the requirements of the agent technologies are satisfied by the site at which the architecture will be deployed. The proposed Implementation Architecture Creation and Evaluation Toolkit (ICET) help the designer in not only the implementation architecting process but also helps in the efficient planning for deploying of agent technologies.
