Reinforcing Protection Against Chosen-Plaintext Attack Using Ciphertext Fragmentation in Multi-cloud Environments

The Secure Fragmentation and Dispersal (SFD) scheme fragments and disperses encrypted data over at least two storage clouds. It increases the space complexity of a bruteforce search that has to be performed by an attacker unable to compromise the totality of the storage sites. The scheme is particularly efficient against an attacker unaware of the stored plaintext content. In this paper, we present a modification of the scheme addressing the problem of securing outsourced data against an attacker performing a chosen-plaintext attack.
