Simulation and Data Processing of Highway Traffic Incident Based on VISSIM

Traffic incident detection is a significant part of ITS.A brief review of several algorithms applied in traffic incident detection was given in this paper.Based on the model of incident in VISSIM software,we simulated an one-way straight highway with three lanes and with a car broken down on it.The data collection points can record the traffic parameters before and after the traffic incident happens.Original traffic parameters were processed based on Matlab language and an updated detection method based on wavelet analysis was proposed.
