Smart phone Augmented Reality(AR) technology will realize the miniaturization and portable of AR system, and this will broaden and deepen the fields of AR application. At present, the registration is mainly based on computer vision in the study of smart phone AR technology. The paper puts forth a new registration method in smart phone which is based on GPS/3D electronic compass and researches on software and hardware interface between smart phone and mini electronic compass. The software module of AR and the algorithm of 3D spatial information visualization in smart phone are built. At last,it takes 3D pipe visualization as an example.
