Performing a Performer: human performers instead of electric sound generators.

This article presents a case of using Max library "Bach: automated composer's helper" for real-time music communication in symbolic notation.The author provides a look into his current research, which investigates possibilities and limitations of using traditional symbolic notation in the real time context.The presented case explores the use of a laptop, a MIDI keyboard and an external monitor for interfacing with a classically trained orchestra musician in real time; it focuses on performer's reaction time and different ways of optimising it.
