A Method of Building a Miniaturized Linux

The paper introduces the applications of Linux in embedded systems, and the host/target development mode, also proposes a method based on the initial RAM disk mechanism to build a miniaturized Linux system. The implementation of three components, Linux kernel, root file system and boot loader, are introduced in detail. Lastly, a typical example on developing network-attached storage (NAS) server is shown.
