The automatic shape and magement of excess metal is an important part in automatic layout system for sheet metal,also a key technic effecting the practicality of the system.This paper,mainly discusses how to use the graphics track technic to form the excess metal shape automatically or manually, and how to realize the database management of excess matal through the ODBC interface,moreover the data interface with the automatic layout module is designed to achieve the perfect use of excess metal.
