OPTIMIZATION METHODS FOR MPEG-4 ALGORITHMS IN MULTIMEDIA APPLICATIONS RUNNING ON PDA

MPEG-4 video decoder for PDA device is developed. Hardware system around Intel's PAX-250 application processor is chosen for development. High optimization methods were implemented on target device for a selected sei of MPEG-4 tools. Complete MPEG-4 Simple Profile video decoder was implemented that resulted in good output quality.
