In order to reduce the effects of crown cover and hill country on RTD GPS positioning precision, this pa per , based on the statistical analyses with the data of RTD GPS resurveying test on different land types, topog raphies , ranges and crowns, puts forward the rule that RTD GPS positioning precision changes with those fac tors . Then the authors bring forward several corresponding reducing countermeasures, such as high-gain anten na, cutting trees and shelling branches, lifting antenna to above crown, pseudo-satellite, GLONNASS, DGPS and barometer, prolonging observation time and setting turning stations. In these ways, the signal got from the satellites can be increased, positioning precision of GPS can be improved and the effects of crown cover, hill country and survey range on RTD GPS positioning precision would be reduced.
