Service architectures for educational purposes

Flackr and Factory are part of two different service architectures running on modern and relevant technologies. The students will take on the role as a system administrator and be responsible for system operation. They will get a theoretical and practical insight on relevant and real-world IT operational issues like scalability, availability, single point of failure, and security. As a part of this they have to install, configure and operate web servers, databases, and servers doing load balancing of the incoming traffic.
