Ranking Fuzzy Numbers Based on the Centroids of Fuzzy Numbers

Ranking Fuzzy numbers plays a very important role in decision making and some other fuzzy application systems. Many methods have been proposed to deal with ranking fuzzy numbers, Cheng and Chu proposed two different methods based on the centroids of fuzzy numbers respectively, but drawbacks are found in both indexes. To overcome the shortcomings, the paper proposed a new ranking method. The new method can effectively rank various fuzzy numbers. At last, this paper used some comparative examples to illustrate the advantages of the proposed index.
