An Improved Method for Skew Detection of Chinese Document Images

When image digitalization devices translate document files into document images, the document images are always skewed to some extent,which would result in a failure of the follow-up processing.An improved skew document image detection method based on nearest-neighbor algorithm for Chinese document is presented,in which the least square method is used to reduce the error of skew detection.The new algorithm can accelerate the convergence rate and reduce the error compared with the existing algorithms,such as the nearest-neighbor algorithm.The experimental results of 100 slant Chinese document images show that the proposed method has high precision and robustness.
