Application of UAV (Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle) is possible to cover a wide variety of flights including the cases when human habitation is inconvenient, high risk is anticipated, and cost is much expensive. Also, tether technology is one of indispensible advanced technology in space to connect many satellites or to construct such a very large structures as space elevator. Tethered UAV is the UAV connected with tether to any fixed point on ground or such a structure as ship or vehicle. The tethered UAV is thus possible to be employed as a UAV controlled by additional control parameter as tension of tether and constrained within a prescribed space. Fundamental flight performance is studied in this report for a tethered UAV. Mathematical formulation is discussed, and an expression of strict solution is obtained for the relation between the wind speed and flying velocity of the tethered UAV.
