This paper discusses the directed diffusion (DD) mechanism for routing with mobile agents (DDMA). DD is a data distribution protocol in sensor networks that provides the following mechanisms: sending requests from the sink to the desired sensors, and forming gradients for sending data from the intermediate nodes to the sink node (sink). DD provides efficient routing, but preliminary route research requires an initial flow of requests. It is shown that the mechanism of DDMA is energy saving and eliminates redundancy in the transmission of data. The formulas for quantitative estimates are derived. Taking into account the specifics of sensor networks, the sensor should have various possibilities for working with several applications. However, for the integrated node with limited memory it is impossible to store all possible application codes in local memory. Introduction of MA not only provides an efficient way to dynamically scan new applications, but also allows the source node to conduct local processing of raw data upon application request. This feature allows you to reduce the amount of data transferred, since only relevant information will be distinguished and transmitted.
