Networks for An Infinite Service Future
Peter J. Cochrane, Mohamed Abdel‐Maguid · 2019
In a world of exponentially growing content, connectivity and communication, the complexity of our networks, systems, devices and machines now make it fundamentally impossible to define and profile users and their network traffic. Further, this mounting complexity comes at the cost of end-to-end reliability and resilience, along with a significant energy cost and ecological impact. Our challenge then, is to broadly maintain the ability to satisfy an exponential demand that is about to see a major new component - The IoT. This is a vital element of Industry 4.0 and sustainable futures that presents significant challenges in Cyber-Security and energy demands.
