High-Quality Image Scaling Using V-Model
Anju Sudhakaran, Manju Manuel · 2018
Image scaling is extensively used in digital imaging devices like tablet PC, mobile phone, high-definition television, digital cameras, etc. The proposed algorithm is composed of sharpening spatial filter (SSF), clamp filter (CF), and bilinear interpolation. The effects of bilinear interpolation such as blurring and associated aliasing artifacts can be lessened by adding SSF and CF as prefilters. The first two filters are realized using the inversed V-model and V-model convolution kernels to lower the memory requirement and complexity. These filters are again combined to design a combined filter inorder to conserve the computing resource and memory buffer. This work has reduced memory requirement when compared with previous techniques.
