This chapter describes how different standardized platform solutions are useful in the design, development, and deployment of microservices-centric applications. It aims to understand how different kinds of platforms such as development platforms, deployment platforms, middleware platforms, and resiliency platforms facilitate the quick adoption of Microservices architecture (MSA). The chapter explains the various platforms and how they conveniently contribute for the easier, risk-free, and quicker adoption of MSA for releasing business-critical and adaptive applications across multiple verticals. MSA has the strength to overcome the deficiencies of conventional applications and to produce futuristic and flexible applications that can fulfill the growing expectations of businesses and application users. MSA is an application architecture pattern that structures the application as a dynamic collection of loosely coupled and lightweight services. Microservices-centric applications are distributed in nature, and hence networks play a crucial role in the success of Microservices architecture.
