The paper develops and substantiates the application of the multifrequency microwave remote sensing method aimed at detecting convective clouds and controlling the formation and development of dangerous and unfavorable atmospheric meteorological phenomena associated with their evolution under conditions of undetermined changes in background radiation. The basic requirements and limitations to the directional properties of the antenna system of a multifrequency microwave measuring system are given, as well as the basic mathematical relations describing the functioning of the proposed method.
