Noise Removal from Digital Mammogram Images for Proper Diagnosis of Breast Cancer

The introduction of digital mammography represents a significant technological advance in breast imaging.However, these images may contain artefacts.Commonly encountered artefacts include patient-related artefacts, hardware-related artefacts, detector-associated artefacts, collimator misalignment and underexposure and grid lines.This paper proposed algorithm for elimination of artefacts and noise in medio-lateral oblique (MLO) view of mammograms.
