Spline Functions and Genetic Algorithm for Reverse Engineering of Symmetric 3D Models

A neoteric technique, consisting of an iterative method for reconstructing symmetric 3D models, is proposed. The problem of curve fitting is solved by using spline function. Significant points are evaluated by a proposition and the optimal shape parameter values in the description of spline function are determined using Genetic Algorithm, an effectual soft computing technique.
