This paper proposes a specific solution to optimize the energy consumption of low data rate devices that works in a used in either multiple user smart home application or industry specific IoT, whose operation is battery-based. Since a low power transmission is likely to be affected by errors, leading to occurrence of several consecutive bits of the same type, one idea was to used Manchester encoded spreading codes. Therefore, in this paper we investigate how this operation affects the correlation and the power spectral density properties and if such a choice is feasible.
