Simulator for Teaching Magnetic Disk Scheduling Algorithms
Alex Sandro Rodrigues Ancioto, Luiz Felipe Santos Freitas, Marcelo de Paiva Guimarães · 2018
Disk scheduling algorithms are fundamental to operational systems, managing schedule I/O requests arriving for a disk. They aim to make the systems efficient, fast, and fair, allowing to improve the seek time. This papeŕs goal is to present an immersive and interactive virtual reality simulator for teaching magnetic disk scheduling algorithms. This application simulates the First Come - First Served (FCFS) algorithm. The results of a usability and learning are presented.
