Review on Human Action Recognition

Chong Chen, Bo He, Heng Zhang · 2017 International Conference on Computer Technology, Electronics and Communication (ICCTEC) · 2017

As the "Human-centered computing" is becoming more and more popular and novel applications are coming up, action recognition and activity understanding are attracting researchers' attention in Pervasive computing and humancomputer interaction. Now, human motion recognition technology has broad application prospects in many research areas, such as intelligent home, intelligent monitoring and sports rehabilitation. Human action recognition technologies based on image (or video) and sensors are the two mainstream technologies at present. And the human action recognition technology based on wireless signal is a new technology which is highly praised. This paper introduces three different classes of identification techniques, points out the shortcomings of the method and the development direction. It is hoped to provide some valuable reference for newcomers in this field.
