Digital Filters with Small Transition Frequency Bands

The design of the infinite impulse response (IIR) digital filters is presented by cascading a prototype filter with complementary comb filters. The minimum attenuation in the stop band is increased and the transition frequency band is reduced. The complexity of implementation is reduced, because the complementary comb filters do not contain any multiplier. The Butterworth or Chebyshev filters are used as prototype filters.
