Human Computer Interaction (HCI) is an extremely important facet as a starting point towards effectively exploiting the computing prowess of a computing machine. Unifying different computer data inputs like mouse, keyboard, gesture, etc. into a single customizable environment would provide a mechanism for the user to interact more comfortably with the computer. Such an approach would also immensely benefit the differently abled. This paper proposes a unique scheme for design of an augmented data input environment comprising of customizable keyboard, mouse and gesture. The HCI integrated with gestures has been implemented using LEAP Motion controller, aided by a haptic glove. The experiments resulted in motion based customizable key inputs with speeds up to 22 words per minute as compared to 40 words per minute attainable in a standard QWERTY keyboard. The results are encouraging and can be used for futuristic applications involving VR customizable keyboards and mouse tracking.
