This paper presents a new six directions chain code based on the classical Freeman code. It can be applied to graphics that involves hexagonal cells or boundaries. Compare to 8 directions chain code, 6 directions chain code is distortion-free under rotations. This paper also discusses the weaving path problem in bead weaving especially for the ring bead cushion using 6 directions chain code. According to the description of the periodicity and regularity of the weaving path, the algorithm flow chart is provided. Computer simulation shows that 6 directions chain code can precisely picture the path of bead weaving. The main contribution of this paper are to create a new application field of six directions chain code and provide the theoretical basis for designing and manufacturing a bead weaving machine.
