SDN-Based Transparent Redirection for Content Delivery Networks
Tomáš Boros, Ivan Kotuliak · 2019
The Internet is the technology of choice for mass information distribution today. Content Delivery Networks, as the method used to deliver majority of the Internet's content, are becoming the most important piece of making this kind of communication sustainable. They do however impose some limitations as opposed to older legacy approaches. Redirection, while being one of the crucial elements of Content Delivery Networks, has not received a significant amount of attention in the recent years. This paper shows how redirection in Content Delivery Networks can be enhanced and achieved on the transport layer, creating a versatile solution using a novel Software Defined Network based approach.
