Tactical Internet Communication Traffic Characteristics and Modeling Methods
Ying Lu, Jie Li, Qi Guo · 2018
Whether the traffic modeling of tactical communication network is reasonable or not directly affects the effectiveness and correctness of network performance analysis, protocol design, network planning and management. At present, there is a lack of a complete and effective research method and system for traffic modeling of tactical communication networks at home and abroad. Based on the communication characteristics and business requirements of tactical communication network, this paper analyzes the traffic characteristics from the statistical significance point of view with the existing mathematical theory, and proposes a targeted ON-OFF multi-source convergence traffic modeling method. The OPNET software is used to load the business source generation model in the source module of each node and run the simulation. The results show that the traffic generated by the given model conforms to the basic characteristics of the tactical communication network traffic. This method provides a new solution for the design of network traffic model in wartime communication environment.
