User Behavior Analyses in Mobile Personal Livecasts

Dongyan Zhang, Yi Yao, Shuo Wang · 2018

With the rapid development of mobile communication technology, broadband wireless access technology, and mobile terminal technology, mobile personal livecasts have emerged and received extensive attention. In recent years, livecasting platforms have continuously increased in number, and they place a heavy emphasis on the measurement of video quality and customer satisfaction. We analyze user behaviors based on the CDN(Content Delivery Network) node log data from real CDN network environments of interactive livecasting platforms. Using the log information, the user behavior and habits of livecast viewers are analyzed according to geographical region and time period. Based on these user behaviors in different regions, resources are allocated differently at different time periods to optimize the CDN edge node server configuration. This allows the livecast system to provide better services with the same number of total CDN edge servers.
