In this age of digitization, the prevalent myth is that paper documents are decreasing . However studies have shown[3] that instead of decreasing, the use of paper documents is increasing. These paper documents fulfill an essential role in our day to day lives. This is especially true for certain nature of documents like administrative, legal, pharmaceutical tags, military documents etc. Like any other machine, printers are liable to breakdowns and errors. Furthermore the type of paper used also contributes to the probability of error ,occurring in the printed document. As such it is very difficult to predict the exact time of this occurrence of error. In applications where the volume of printed documents is low manual checking is possible. However when this volume is high like in book printing industry, newspaper industry etc., where a large no. of copies are made of the same document, manual checking becomes next to impossible. In such situations automated checking becomes useful. In this paper, the author attempts to bring out a method to automatically check documents in a reliable manner using MATLAB tool.
