Process Control with IIoT Capabilities of the Hollow Cathode Plasma Nitriding

This paper deals with the design and implementation of the process control software for the hollow cathode plasma nitriding system. An integrated monitoring, control and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) capable system was designed to fulfill the requirements of a modern industrial control system. Besides the new control tasks imposed by the hollow cathode plasma nitriding, the integration of the plasma diagnostics and the Ethernet based monitoring system was added to the process control system, thus online monitoring, remote access, data storing in cloud was developed. The paper is dedicated to the monitoring, data logging and remote control of the system, the controller design is not the current subject.
