Aspects Regarding Contact Resistance Measurement

The presence of an electrical contact on a current path always highlights an additional electrical resistance, called contact resistance Rc. The paper shows a method of measuring the contact resistance with the help of an equipment dedicated to this purpose. An experimental investigation of the contact resistance is presented on two switching equipment which have different types of contacts, at different values of the test current, related to their nominal current and at two thermal states (cold and warm).
