The Arabyola portal

Inas Hussein Hassan · 2019

The Arabyola portal contains, in a consolidated format, an extensive number of high-quality websites and mobile applications for Arabic language learning. This portal could be integrated into any standard curriculum to enrich the Arabic teaching and learning experience for teachers and students alike. The selected e-resources come from a variety of websites that motivate students to pursue independent learning and to recognize core characteristics of the language. This portal meets the students’ needs at all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced). We describe the portal structure, teaching approaches, implementation challenges, and outcomes from integrating this tool in the classroom environment as well as techniques to utilize this portal in different class levels. Another key objective is to expose students to career opportunities and other experiences to advance their language skills. We suggest that this teaching methodology offers substantial possibilities to promote students’ proficiency in Arabic, advance their awareness of the culture, and enrich cross-cultural communication.
